Philadelphia Children's Alliance Earns Prestigious
Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid

The Philadelphia Children's Alliance (PCA), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and advocacy for child victims of sexual abuse, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency by Candid for the year 2023.
Candid, a trusted source for information on nonprofits, awards the Platinum Seal to organizations that demonstrate a high level of transparency in their operations. This prestigious accolade is a testament to PCA's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of accountability and effectiveness in its efforts to serve the community.
"We are thrilled to receive the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid," said Benita Williams, Executive Director, “we hope this will help our individual giving program, as PCA continues to build that important constituency of donors.” PCA Board President Desiree Davis noted, “This reflects our ongoing commitment to our community and donors. We believe in keeping our supporters informed about our work and impact as we strive to create a safer and healthier community for children affected by sexual abuse."
This recognition comes at a crucial time as PCA continues to expand its reach and enhance its services to better meet the needs of child victims and their families. On Saturday, we presented our Stewards of Children® training at Dare to Imagine Church in Mount Airy. Stewards of Children® teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families, and communities. Did you know that over 800 human trafficking cases were filed in Pennsylvania in the last five years? At PCA, we know the impact this abuse has on our children. Nilsa Ulerio, MHP (pictured) is our Bilingual Child Victims of Human Trafficking (CVHT) Program Coordinator at PCA. Nilsa is one of the only clinicians in the region providing trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy specialized for child victims of human trafficking. The work we do for children at Philadelphia Children’s Alliance takes a team of people dedicated to service, discretion, and detail. Our Data Management Specialist tracks all our case data and case outcomes and works closely with our program and development teams to measure and report the impact of PCA for funding and prevention needs. For 30 years, Christine Jones has been an advocate for vulnerable children in Philadelphia and an irreplaceable member of the team at PCA. On Christine’s first day (August 23, 1993 – she will never forget that date!), she joined 3 employees in our original office above a Thai restaurant at 4000 Chestnut Street. So much has changed since then, but what remains constant is the dedication, compassion, and heart of the people behind our work – and Christine has been a leader in helping mold the culture of PCA’s staff and services. In her own words, “As the needs of families change, PCA has enhanced our services to grow right along with them.
